While we typically use our blog to post cute pictures of Olivia, we are posting about a more serious topic today. As many of you know, this past July marked the 3-year anniversary of Brad's younger brother, Scott's death. Scott tragically took his own life on July 3, 2006, leaving behind three beautiful, young children.
Sadly, we are far from unique in dealing with this devastating problem. According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), in 2006, there were 33,300 reported suicide deaths. Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death for adults between the ages of 18 and 65 years in the United States.
This coming Saturday, September 26, we will be walking at Wheeler Farm here in Salt Lake City as part of AFSP's 2009 Out of the Darkness Community Walk. All proceeds from the walk go to suicide research, education and prevention efforts. If you're able to join us, we'd love for you to join our team, "For All the Good Times" (Join Our Team).
